Mr. Rogers and his supposed prison tattoos.......

As we are 300+ feet underground in Mammoth Dome, Connor pipes up with "Did you know Mr. Rogers wore sweaters on his show to hide his prison tattoos? I saw it on the news." And walks off. Smh!

The Princess Bride and E Harmony.....

So we introduced the youngest child to the movie The Princess Bride. He thinks we are nuts. They started talking about true love and he says "I thought that's what E Harmony was for." Lol.

Chicken Parts........

So we were watching tv the other night and an Olive Garden commercial came on.  They were talking about how they send their chefs to Italy to learn how to authentically cook Italian food in their restaurants.  (right.......)  Anywho, they were talking about how to grill chicken breasts.  Connor askes,"What are chicken breasts?"  Sean replies, "You know, those chicken chests we eat at school for lunch."  A few moments go by and Connor bursts out in a horrified voice with "Oh My God!  You mean I'm eating chicken boobies?!?!?!?!?"  I almost fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard.  Whew!

His reading level complaint.....

So I am driving home with the youngest in the back of the car last night and he pops up with a complaint.  "Mom, I am reading on a 2.4 to 3.4 reading level and I think I'm mature enough to move up to the next level.  My fluency is pretty good and I comprehend what it's all about.  I think I'm being held back!"  I laughed so hard I almost wrecked the car.  Really???  What 2nd grader thinks that way!

the compass: which way?

So this weekend we made a stop at the Stones River Park Station.  Connor loves visiting there and especially visiting the gift shop.  While we were there he fell in love with a small compass.  I thought it would be a good thing for him to learn to use so I bought it for him.  As we walked out I could hear him muttering to himself.  When I asked him what was wrong he replied, " This thing doesn't work!  It doesn't point which way I'm going.  I was ripped off!"  After I finished laughing I tried to explain that it pointed north, not the direction he was walking but he was having nothing to do with that explanation.  Luckily Tim was able to get through to Connor about how a compass works. :)
